Sejong Technopark and Korea Drone Racing Association sign agreement to promote Sejong’s drone science culture

- Agreement expected to enhance science culture literacy and foster drone-related industries in Sejong -

Sejong Technopark (President Hyun-bong Yang) announced that it has signed a strategic collaborative agreement with the Korea Drone Racing Association (Chairman Hee-dong Kang) regarding the enhancement of science culture literacy and fostering of industries related to the field of future technology (drones) in Sejong City.

The Korea Drone Racing Association, a nonprofit corporation under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, aims to contribute to the dissemination and development of technology through the advancement of domestic and international drone racing and the activation of drone academies. This association, in collaboration with Sejong Technopark this year, organized the 2023 Sejong National Drone Racing Competition to provide Sejong citizens with a platform to experience various innovative technologies and services related to the drone field.

Through this agreement, both organizations seek to establish a cooperative system for activities that promote drone culture in Sejong City, including policy consulting and research, exploration of collaborative projects, cooperation in support programs, network establishment and information exchange, and promotion of achievements.

The goal is to expand science culture projects in related fields by producing drone-related science culture content, thereby enhancing Sejong’s competitiveness in drone technology and raising science culture awareness among Sejong citizens.

President Hyun-bong Yang of Sejong Technopark said, “I look forward to nurturing future talents in the innovative field of drones and actively collaborating to facilitate the spread of drone culture in Sejong City. Leveraging the specialized technology of the Korea Drone Racing Association and the industrial development capabilities of Sejong Technopark, we will lay the foundation for an infinite value-added industry aligned with Sejong's status as the strategic future capital.”

Designated as the Sejong Science Culture Base Center with funding from the Ministry of Science and ICT and Korea Foundation for the Advancement Science & Creativity since 2021, Sejong Technopark has been conducting activities such as discovering and supporting local scientific groups and operating specialized programs to promote science culture in the Sejong region.
