On November 6th, Sejong City, led by Mayor Choi Min-ho, hosted the

"2023 Sejong Information Technology Symposium" at the Grand Hall of the Korea National Arboretum, with the participation of 110 officials responsible for fostering and adopting new technologies, including information technology, from City Hall and related government agencies.

The focus of this symposium was to enhance the capabilities of government officials to implement the Digital Platform Government, a project actively promoted by the city, and to identify strategies for accelerating the development of the quantum industry.

The main topics included: 1) Implementation strategies for the Digital Platform Government policy by Secretary-General Lee Soo-jin of the DPG Committee 2) A special lecture and sharing of policies and discussions on "The Future Society Brought by Quantum Computers," presented by SDT CEO Yoon Ji-won.

The Digital Platform Government, a pan-governmental project, aims to resolve social issues and create new value together with citizens, businesses, and the government on a digital platform with interconnected data.

The city formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Presidential Digital Platform Government Committee in September this year and continues implementing the Digital Platform Government (DPG).

Furthermore, the city has signed a business agreement with KAIST and QuEra Computing to develop the quantum industry capital, focusing on key capabilities.

Through regular symposiums involving both public and private sectors, the city aims to engage the community to expedite the Digital Platform Government’s implementation and the quantum industry’s development.

Planning and Coordination Office Director Kim Sung-ki stated, "Enhancing the capacity of relevant government officials is crucial for the realization of the Digital Platform Government and the development of the quantum industry in Sejong City," adding, "We are committed to enhancing the capabilities of our government officials to boost Sejong City's competitiveness.
